Technology is one of the important ways for deaf and hard of hearing people to be able to interact with hearing society. As new technology is developed, it means that we as deaf and hard of hearing people have to learn what to buy and how to use and maintain it. Many hearing technicians are unaware of how deaf and hard of hearing people use technology. If we take our equipment to a hearing person, the hearing person rarely takes the time to explain what he/she did and why.
DeBoers Enterprise believes it is important for us to have access to technical services in a way that is sensitive to our needs. We are always looking for innovative uses for technology. We try to share that information with others in the deaf and hard of hearing community. When a client contacts us, we will help them with their equipment and explain what is needed and why.
Individuals
Fixed Charge. We offer computer purchase advice and setup for a fixed low price. We will discuss with the client what kind of computer will best fit his/her needs, and then when the computer arrives, we will help set it up and configure whatever programs are necessary.
Hourly Fee. We provide regular computer maintenance visits. We check to make sure the computer is updated with the latest patches and run anti-virus/anti-spyware software to make sure your computer is functioning at its best.
Hourly Fee. For computers that need more intensive help, we can take the computer, backup its current data, and restore or reinstall the operating system.
Hourly Fee + Materials. We can help with clients to run cable in their home to be able to connect their computer and/or videophone to their internet service provider. We also sell ethernet cables as part of our fundraising efforts. If you would like to purchase one or more cables from us, please contact us for more details. Organizations serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Hourly Fee. We provide network assistance in the installation and maintenance of Linux-based firewalls, file servers, print servers, and email servers.
Hourly Fee. We can do some database and programming work for your organization to help it take advantage of existing software and technology.
Block Agreements. For all of our services, we do offer Block Agreements which allow organizations to pre-purchase blocks of hours at a discounted rate rather than pay the full invoice hourly rate.
